OVERVIEW
Our Cho Oyu expedition route first passes through the road to Cho Oyu base camp, crosses the Nepal border and continues through Nyalam and Tingri. The route to Cho Oyu Base Camp involves a walk at normal altitude but is rewarded with stunning views of Cho Oyu (8,201m) to the north. Beyond will lie the kingdom of glaciers, surrounded by the unforgettable presence of the world’s most majestic mountains.
We set up an advanced base camp and then three high camps in the mountains. Then began our main attempt to climb to the summit (8201m). The expedition will be supported by a team of experienced climbing staff and guides. We also supply climbers with world-class mountaineering tents for high altitude camps. Makalu Adventure has a good success rate in Cho Oyu Expedition. If you are brave enough and love adventure, you can also try Everest expedition from Tibet or Shishapangma Expedition.
We offer two types of service packages for Cho Oyu transportation.

Day 07 - 08 Trek To Namche Bazaar And Acclimatize
After Phakding, we proceed to Namche Bazaar, another stunning location and the hub of the Khumbu region’s commerce. The main activities of the day’s journey include trekking upward for the most part while passing through pine, juniper, and rhododendron woods, keeping an eye out for wildlife in Sagarmatha National Park, ascending steps, and occasionally taking in the raging rivers. Given that we’re starting to gain substantial height, this walk will be lengthy and taxing. We take a break at our hotel and have supper as we approach Namche. The next day, we’ll explore the settlement and get a taste of the sherpa way of life.
-
Day 09 Trek to Tengboche, Lodge
Following our stay in Namche, we move toward the Tengboche monastery, one of this expedition’s most picturesque and serene locations. One of the most well-liked monasteries among Buddhists worldwide is Tengboche. To the north are the views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam, while to the south are the impressive vistas of Thamserku and Kangtega. We shall participate in certain devotional rituals as well before taking the day off.

Day 10-11 Trek To Dingboche And Acclimatize
We begin our trip toward Dingboche, where we will remain the next day to adapt, after spending the night in Tengboche. We pass a bridge over the rushing Imja river as we descend from Tengboche into Deboche via rhododendron trees. Then we make a steady ascent uphill to the settlement of Lower Pangboche, from which we can enjoy breathtaking views of Ama Dablam. After a roughly five to six-hour hike, we travel across the valley to reach Dingboche at the beginning of the Imja Tse valley. The following day is spent becoming acclimated here. We do short excursions nearby to get some breathtaking vistas of the majestic mountain range.
-
Day 12 Trek To Lobuche
After adjusting in Dingboche, we move on to Lobuche, another stunning halt. The route begins with a climb up the ridge below Periche till the tea houses at Dughla, then it climbs steeply to the Khumbu Glacier’s terminal moraine. You will come across a number of stone memorials built in honor of climbers who perished while attempting the route. We arrive at Lobuche, a small Sherpa hamlet, after about 6-7 hours of arduous travel. On this route to Mount Everest, it is the last settlement with lodges.
-
Day 13 Trek To Lhotse Base Camp
We move in the direction of Base Camp from Lobuche. With all of the prayer flags, mini-monuments, stupas, and distant vistas of enormous peaks, the hiking route is incredibly beautiful and tranquil. We eventually arrive at the captivating Base Camp after a 4-5 hour hike across the challenging treeless alpine region.
-
Day 14 to 47 Training And Climbing Period
We will have full board service at base camp with delicious and nutritious meals cooked by experienced chefs, warm dining tents, solar panels, internet and satellite phones. In addition, we will complete multiple rotations to the upper camps, practice ice, alpine and snow climbing, practice ridge walks with fixed ropes and many other activities to prepare for the ascent top. On the day the group leader plans to conquer the mountain peak, we will depart early, so that we can reach the top and witness the bright, radiant sunrise behind the mountain range. Early morning is the ideal time to climb mountains because the weather is quite calm, less windy and less hot. After successfully climbing Lhotse Peak and taking memorable photos, we will slowly return to the lower camps, finally to the base camp.
-
Day 48 Cleaning Up The Base Camp
When preparing to depart, we, as responsible travelers, make sure not to leave any waste behind. We clean the campsite thoroughly to accommodate other travel companions in a clean and pristine environment. We then packed our things and prepared to leave for Pheriche the next morning.
-
Day 49 Trek Back To Pheriche

-
Day 50 Trek To Namche
The route that leads to Namche Bazaar offers breathtaking vistas the entire way. Until we reach the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River, we gradually descend through the lusciously green woods of rhododendron, pine, and junipers. We finally arrive in the culturally rich Namche Bazaar after through Sansa and other deep woods, where we spend the night.
