We depart for Manaslu! We will lead in the direction of Dharapani by leaving the chaotic streets of Kathmandu. It is a lengthy bus trip of ten hours that travels along the sides of rivers, past towns, and through forests on traditional Himalayan roads. We will get breathtaking views of Nepal’s landscape as we go. The thrilling trip will initially take place on the Prithivi Highway.

Then our bus or vehicle will travel the middle slopes of Dumre’s Himalayan roads. In Dumre, we shall enter the Marsyangdi Nadi valley. The major entrance to the Manaslu Region is not Dharapani. The halt is more frequently visited by visitors to the Annapurna area. We are currently at Dharapani because we want to take a different route.

After eating breakfast, we’ll begin the journey to Tije. We will present our permits at the MCAP and ACAP card checkpoint. The first thing we’ll do is cross a bridge over the Marsyangdi River when our tickets have been approved. Our initial stroll will take place on a wider route with little traffic.

After that, we will begin an hour-long hike up a hillside lined with fir and rhododendron trees. We will softly descend through villages and paddy fields. The final stretch of the trip will include climbing an easy uphill to reach Tilije. Overnight in Tilje.

  • Day 05 Trek to Bimthang (3590m)

At order to start our journey to Bimthang, we will awaken at Tilije. A lovely day of hiking has passed. So after a hearty meal, we’ll proceed to the trial. The path passes through subtropical forests and small towns. It implies that we will briefly discuss individuals and daily life. Household pets like lambs and cows will be present.

We will soon arrive at Karche Pass, a little ridge. It will offer the initial view of Mount Manaslu. We will travel to Yak Kharka, a typical location, for lunch after taking a little rest there. We will tackle the final, steeply ascending leg of the hike after lunch. To get to the valley, we’ll carefully ascend the hill.

  • Day 06 Rest & Acclimatization Day in Bimthang

Bimthang will have a day of relaxation to adjust to the altitude. There are several tourist attractions in the village, which is a well-liked location. We’ll leave all of our luggage at our inn and explore Bimthang.

Lakes Ponkar and Nyamlo exist. Three glaciers, Ponkar, Salpudanda, and Kaechakyu, may also be found there. The vistas of lakes, glaciers, and peaks on the way to these locations are breathtaking. During the hike, Kang Garu, Gyalji Kang, Mt. Manaslu, Phungi Himal, and other mountains may be seen. We will stop at Bimthang after a successful day of exploring. Sleep in Bimthang.

  • Day 07 Cross Larkya La (5215m) and trek to Samdo (3875m-10 Hrs.), lodge

We will wake up early as this is going to be a long and strenuous day of hiking. We will leave Bimthang by taking the upward path. As we climb, we will see glaciers and mountains. It’s a long climb that ends at Larkya La Pass (5,215 m). Therefore, we will walk gradually enjoying the wonderful scenery.

After a long climb, we will reach Larkya La Pass, the central mountain pass of the region. We will see the famous panorama of the place and take some time to catch our breaths. Various ranges, including the Annapurna Range, can be viewable from this pinpoint.

Spending enough time at the top, we will descend towards Shamdo, our day’s destination. It is going to be a regular descent to Samdo village via Dharamsala. We will cross rough and dry terrain throughout the hike and reach Samdo village.

  • Day 08 Trek to Sama Gaon (3780m)

From Samdo, we will now travel to Samagaon. The Manaslu Expedition’s shortest and easiest day is today. To go to Samagaon, a charming village, we must ascend. We will begin the day with a short stroll. We shall next descend to the Budhi Gandaki River’s banks. We’ll use a wooden bridge to cross the river and then enter a juniper and birch woodland. The remainder of the group travels across the valley till they reach Samagaon. Early arrival will allow us to tour the village’s historic homes, famous monasteries, and hospitable residents.

  • Day 09 Trek to Manaslu Base Camp (4700m)

The midpoint of the Manaslu Expedition is currently where we are. Today, we’ll continue the adventure by going in the direction of Manaslu Base Camp. We won’t have to wait long to get to the eighth-tallest mountain in the world’s base camp. However, we need to make camp there. So, we’ll go out on our stroll first thing in the morning.

We will first arrive in a picturesque settlement of rhododendron and juniper by traveling on a muddy route. In order to reach the lovely Manaslu Base Camp, we must leave the forest and hike for a number of hours. While we take advantage of the location’s favorable perspectives, our team will set up camp. In Manaslu Base Camp, spend the night.

  • Day 10 to 30 Climbing period; summit Manaslu (8163m)

The escalation phase begins here. We will be in the mountains from day 10 to day 30. This will be the time to prepare well, climb to the top and return to base.

The first few days, we would not leave the Manaslu base. We need to be trained before climbing and well adapted to the climate. Our climbing guide will teach us how to use ropes, ice axes, climbing ropes, carabiners and other equipment during this time. Using this kit, we will also do snow climbing, crevassing and other activities to build confidence. The steep and snowy training ground will set us up for our next climb.

After enough training, we will climb to Camp I. This will be an ascent on steep, moderately curved slopes. Once we reach Camp I, we will return to base camp and get back on the road. It makes us tougher and more resilient, both mentally and physically. We will stop at Camp I.

After Camp I, we will approach Camp II if all goes well. We will successfully climb to Camp II and repeat the ritual of returning to base camp. This means we will return to base camp from Camp II just to climb again. This habit will make us strong in Manaslu even harder. We will continue to do so until we reach Camp IV.

After Camp IV, our climbing will progress to using fixed ropes. Our climbing guide will help us navigate the small ice floes. Ahead we will pass a series of snow-covered slopes and plateaus. The final ascent to the summit involves crossing a sharp mound of snow. We will do it and Mount Manaslu will be ours.

That would be an impeccable feat considering we are on the world’s eighth highest mountain. Every drop of sweat, breath, step, pain and every second of the whole journey will become priceless here. We will celebrate this success that we deserve.

After the victory climb, we will descend to camps IV, III, II, I and base camp. We will take our time to descend gradually. Embarking on an expedition like Manaslu can be life-threatening. Following the lead of our Sherpa guide, we will return to the base.

  • Day 31 Preparation for return to Kathmandu and Base Camp Clean

We shall clean up our garbage once we get to Manaslu Base Camp. We shall clean our disposal as a team since it is our duty to protect the environment. All of the trash will be collected. We will next get ready for our trip back to Kathmandu, which will start tomorrow. We’ll spend the night at our base camp.

  • Day 32 Trek back to Sama Gaon(3780m)

We finally depart Manaslu Base Camp by making our way down to Sama Gaon. We will descend initially via rocky terrain before entering a road through a forest. It won’t be really challenging. To go to Sama Gaon, we will travel pleasantly by way of Birendra Lake, a glacier lake, and a number of settlements.

  • Day 33 Trek to Namrung (2550m)

We will pass by gompas, mani walls, terraced millet fields, the Budhi Gandaki River, and more as we go. Overall, the hike will be enjoyable, and we’ll spend the night in Philim village.

  • Day 35 Trek to Machha Khola (1330m)

We will march toward Machha Khola from Philim village. It will be the final day of our Manaslu Expedition’s hiking. We’ll begin by making a steep ascent to Sirdibas settlement. We will then descend a little before reaching Salleri settlement. A rocky ridge region would then appear and lead us to Jagat. From this point forward, we shall occasionally stroll along the Budhi Gandaki River’s bed. We will eventually go to Tatoppani and Machhakhola this way.

  • Day 36 Drive to Kathmandu(1400m)

The remaining portion of the trip to Kathmandu is on a highway. In the morning, we’ll board a jeep or bus. We’ll be riding the Nepalese highways once more for the rest of the day. We’ll see unusual towns, rivers, mountains, rolling landscapes, and lush vegetation. Overall, the trip back to the busy streets of Kathmandu will be exhilarating.
