OVERVIEW
Mount Baruntse is a mountain in eastern Nepal, surrounded by four peaks and bounded on the south by the Hunku Glacier, on the east by the Barun Glacier and on the northwest by the Imja Glacier.
The majestic peak is surrounded by some of the world’s highest mountains: Everest, Lhotse and Makalu to the north and Makalu on the other side.
Climbing the West Col posed a major challenge. The summit in general is not as technically demanding as it is physically demanding. The mountain was first climbed by Colin Todd and Geoff Harrow of a New Zealand expedition on 30 May 1954 via the South Ridge.

Day 02 Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour and Climbing Preparations
On this day we will take a short tour of Kathmandu.
You will have the opportunity to explore the magnificent historical and cultural relics of this city. There are many world heritage sites recognized by UNESCO. Kathmandu has three main Durbar squares: Basantapur, Patan and Bhaktapur.
These Durbar squares are a kind of open museum with a lot of heritage dating back more than 500 years. There are pagoda and Shikar style Hindu temples as well as Buddhist monasteries and Gumbas. Similarly, the ancient “Newar” settlements around the Durbar region are another highlight of this tour.
These magnificent works of art and artifacts are of great importance and have significant cultural and historical value. You can also enjoy exotic ‘Newari’ cuisine, including ‘aila’, a local fermented beverage. A professional heritage expert will take you on a guided tour of these sites in the Kathmandu Valley. Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath and others are some of the important monuments of this city. Since we cannot visit all of these places in one day, we will only visit a few that you choose in advance. Back at the hotel, you can prepare for your expedition by packing your suitcase carefully for the trip.

-
Day 08 Rest and Acclimatization at Khare
We’ll start our acclimatization at Khare after waking up early and eating breakfast. Any high-altitude trekking experience must include acclimatization since it makes it easier to adjust to shifting conditions.
We will acclimatize at Khare because this trekking trip involved an altitude gain of more than 5000m. The expedition to climb Baruntse Peak is a difficult adventure. You can climb the mountain top with the aid of this acclimatization.
Additionally, this is an opportunity for team leaders and climbing specialists to inspect your equipment and gear for hiking. You can take a quick trek up a neighboring hill because you shouldn’t just sit around during acclimatization days. You will receive climbing instruction from our team leaders to help you be ready for the Baruntse trek.

Day 11 Trek to Baruntse Base Camp (5300m/17755ft) from Seto Pokhari
We shall traverse the valley today, in which there are several stray small pebbles. From Seto Pokhari to Baruntse Base Camp, the hike today begins. As we ascend the route, the area becomes ever more rocky and desolate.
To reach the Base Camp of Mount Baruntse, we will also go over various mountain passes. The paths wind across the region’s distinctive landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Overnight, we’ll stay in the base camp.
-
Day 12 to 23 Ascend the summit of Mt. Baruntse (7129m/23882ft) and back to Base Camp
We will resume our ascent of Mount Baruntse starting on day 12-23. We shall climb Mount Baruntse after some time of acclimatization and preparation. Near the summit, there are high camps, and there are extra camps put up for this expedition’s acclimatization. There, our crew will provide wholesome meals and investigate numerous mountain-climbing paths.
We’ll keep moving up to higher camps, going down to lower camps, and vice versa. This will aid in acclimatization and preparation for the journey. Your training and adequate understanding of gear and equipment will be assisted by our climbing professionals and team leaders. This excursion is quite difficult because of the unpredictability of the weather.
On the South-East Ridge of Baruntse mountain is Camp 1 (6100m). The difficult course features 45° gradients that need for a fixed-line. As the trail crosses through Upper Barun glacier, we ascend the West Col edge. After that, climbers begin a 150-meter, 50-degree ascent to the West Col.
Another key location on this trip is Camp 2, which is situated at a height of 6400 meters on Southeast Ridge’s Upper Barun glacier. We begin our ascent on a glacier slope from camp 1. The path contains several concealed crevasses, thus a fixed rope is necessary. You receive assistance from our expedition team’s Sherpa guides with fixed ropes and camp setup.
From camp 2, we make a difficult ascent to the Baruntse mountain top. In order to get to a minor Col (6500m), we have to climb a 75 degree ice wall. We might continue along the ridge after this ascent to the top of Baruntse Mountain (7129m). The Southeast path is a simple way to reach Baruntse peak’s top.
The greatest views of Mount Everest, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Mera Peak, Nuptse, and other mountains are available from the summit of this Baruntse peak. We visit the top, take photographs, and then head back to base camp, where we camp out for the night.

-
Day 27 Trek from Thangnak to Kothe

-
