OVERVIEW

The Dhaulagiri range includes some of the most amazing landscapes in the world and Putha Hiunchuli is one of them.
Putha Hiunchuli is also known as Dhaulagiri VII and is the westernmost peak of the Dhaulagiri range.
The first ascent was made by the legendary Jimmy Roberts in 1954.
With an altitude of 7246 m, this peak is a tough undertaking that does not require any technical climbing.
This is a great opportunity for climbers who want to reach the top without any serious risks.
Putha Hiunchuli is located in a remote region of the Himalayas in Nepal called Dolpa.
It became famous thanks to the book “The Snow Leopard” by Peter Matthiessen.
The area is an isolated wilderness, devoid of any civilization; Getting to the base was an adventure in itself.
Many climbers compare this peak to the French Alps because of the similarity in terrain and climbing ability.
The southern slopes of Putha Hiunchuli peak form various base camps.
The road to the top has many ridges and difficult trails, making the expedition quite difficult.
The trek to the summit of Putha Hiunchuli starts from the town of Dunai in Dolpa.
The week-long walk will take hikers to the German base camp at 4,525m above sea level.
The entire landscape on the hike is a journey in itself, with amazing views of high cliffs and deep valleys.
