OVERVIEW

Kali Gandaki is a sacred river named after Kali, a Hindu goddess. Starting from the Mustang Glacier, this attractive river flows to Muktinath between the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna mountain ranges. It has the most challenging rivers in Nepal, making it the largest untapped whitewater potential in the world. There are many cremation sites and burial mounds on the banks of the river.

The Kali Gandaki Expedition is an invitation of pure fun for all rafters, from beginners to the bravest adventurers. This rafting trip starts from the Nayapul installation site and ends at Ramdighat with a trip from Pokhara to Kathmandu or a flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu. The river trip takes us into a steep canyon overlooking green foliage and dotted by small waterfalls and side streams facing rapids that provide class III to IV+ runs. Descending through lush tropical forests, we witness unique wildlife, incredible ethnic cultural heritage, fascinating villages and picturesque landscapes. In a word, this river journey not only quenches our thirst for adventure but also connects us with nature and makes us culturally sensitive.

ITINERARY

  • Day 1 Flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara

From Kathmandu, we catch a plane for Pokhara. We may enjoy the most breathtaking views of the majestic Himalayan peaks while in the air. We are taken to our hotel after arrival in Pokhara.

  • Day 2 Drive to Nayapul & Overnight camping at river side

We drive to Nayapul in the early morning after a delectable breakfast. After receiving a thorough safety training and being fully equipped with the necessary rafting gear, we set out on our rafting adventure from Nayapul. Deeply forested valleys, warm waters, glittering side creeks, and breathtaking wildlife sightings are all part of the natural display as we maneuver along the deepest gorge in the world with the assistance of a skilled river guide. We put an end to the journey and stop for camping as we get closer to Modi Dovan. Camping beneath an open sky filled with beautiful stars, with a campfire lulling us to sleep while we dream of the second day on the Gorge part, is one of our most enjoyable experiences.

  • Day 3 Raft up to Mirmighat

The journey continues in the direction of Mirmighat. We float past bizarre landscapes of snow-capped peaks, lush woods, unusual bird life, and rare animal species as we paddle down the beautiful waves and rapids. Our plan to spend the night camping by the river puts an end to the journey.

  • Day 4 Raft up to Ramdighat & drive or flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu

We continue our rafting trip through the difficult and strenuous river on this day. We traverse boulder-strewn whitewaters, tranquil pools, and pulse-quickening rapids while we take in the magnificence of nature. After two hours of rafting, we eventually drive to Pokhara, where we can choose between flying or driving back to Kathmandu.
